Every year Akrai Residency issues an international call to artists, musicians, poets, writers, dancers, theater actors and directors, and chefs. Akrai offers residencies to international creative professionals who have been active in their respective fields for at least 5 years. The sole criterion for selection is artistic excellence.
The application process is conducted completely online. A jury of professionals is invited to review the applications submitted and makes recommendations to the organization. Akrai does not charge candidates to apply, nor to participate in the program. Invited individuals participate completely for free but are responsible for their travel expenses, breakfast and lunch (which can be cooked in the apartments), and the cost of their own materials, as well as any other incidental expenses.
- Online applications are accepted between February 15 and March 15.
- All applicants will be notified by April 8.
- For 2013 the dates of the residency will be September 15 to October 14.
